An experimental film documenting Sm’algyax language learning within the Prince Rupert school system at a time when the district was among the few offering Indigenous language education from kindergarten through Grade 12.
The work follows the language through classrooms, educators, knowledge holders, and young learners, attending to its relationship with cultural identity and continuity across generations.
The film uses image, rhythm, and voice to hold the experience of learning and carrying language within community.
